Mount Eagle Arkansas Sept 14

We are on the road again doing the work of NOMADS.  Our first stop for the fall/winter after the annual NOMADS meeting in Branson was Mount Eagle Christian Retreat Center in Clinton Arkansas.

We are doing a drop in at Mount Eagle for 4 weeks.

The view from Kaetzell Cottage is beautiful.  You can see the peaceful valley and river below.

Often in the mornings the valley is fogged in until the sun can burn the fog off.

The Meditation Walk is filled with scripture verses and benches.

The campground is very quiet.  We have deer that visit our campfire.

The first week we were joined by several other NOMADS.  Dennis worked at fixing the saw blade.

Paul & Sally worked with Dennis and John on fixing the gate to the garden to keep deer out.

Paul and Ron worked at fixing an awning.

Sally, Becky, Sandy and Nancy cleaned up the landscape in front of Beal Cottage.

All the guys worked on enclosing the gable on the carport.

Dennis stained the gable of the carport.

The major job given to us was to begin the replacement of the floors in the halls, kitchen and great room of Kaetzell Cottage.  We had help from Pete and Sandi for the first day.

The hallway doors had to be trimmed before the flooring could be installed.  Dennis almost burnt up his oscillating saw because of all the doors needing to be trimmed.

Finishing the first hallway.  Each hallway was 50 inches by 72 feet.

The complete hallway.

The kitchen floor was next on the list to be completed.  It went very fast, not much trimming needed to be done.  We completed the hallways & kitchen by noon on Thursday so the building could be used this weekend.

On Saturday we went to Tyler Bend Buffalo National River site.

We stopped at the Visitor Center to see the history of the area.

We hiked to Collier Homestead while there.
