Mount Eagle Flooring Done!

This was our third week at
Mount Eagle Christian Retreat Center in Clinton, Arkansas.

Every morning the valley below was fogged in as we went to work.
At the end of the week we are starting to see some of the
maple trees starting to turn to fall colors.

Our project this week was to lay 1000 square feet of laminate floor in the
living/dining room of Kaetzell Lodge. Because of an incoming group for
at the end of the week we needed to complete this by Thursday afternoon so the
building could be prepared for them Friday.

We spent Monday through Wednesday working on the flooring.
This was in the 90 degree heat that was in the local area.

By Wednesday we finished the flooring in the room & replaced the baseboard and door.  The building was finished up on Thursday & ready to be used by a confirmation group for the weekend.

A quilting group was in Beal Lodge for Monday through Thursday.  They were all working on their own projects.  These are some of the placemats that one of the ladies had made. Nancy was very good and stayed with the flooring job even though she was invited to join them.

On Thursday night we got hit with Thunder storms that contained high winds and lots of lightening. We were fine in our camper but 1/2 of a huge maple tree fell on John & Lu's camper which was parked in their yard here at Mount Eagle.  They were on vacation visiting family.

The tree fell across the roof bending the roof frame & stabilizer jacks. We had agreed to be the guest hosts for the camp for the weekend and it was our job to let them know what had happened to the trailer. They were planning to use the trailer to do NOMADS work after retiring at the end of the year.

The tree went through the roof & broke the ceiling in the kitchen leaving about a 5 foot hole.  Another branch went through the slide out roof & ceiling.

Dennis & Gerald their maintenance employee removed the tree
and tarped the camper on Friday afternoon.

Saturday the Boy Scouts came in and finished their Eagle Scout project.
They planned & built a fire pit with 5 swings around it by Beal Lodge. What a wonderful job
they did on this project for the camp!

We wind up our time here this week and will be traveling to Gore Oklahoma for our next project.
