Week Three at Aldersgate Enrichment Center. We knew that this huge project was not going to be complete by the end of the week but the team was determined to complete as much as possible.
On Sunday night we had a movie and a snack night. We watched the "Woodcarver."
Monday morning we were greeted with a dusting of snow that had ice under it and temperatures in the teens.
Doyle supervised digging of a trench for the electrical panel wiring.
Nancy was happy that we were able to finish cutting the insulation for all the walls. In the picture behind her is the extra bales of insulation that were still in the stack for further projects.
Francis worked on connecting the electrical breakers. We had installed 25 electric outlets in the room, 12 ceiling fans, 4 HVAC systems, and 3 large lights. Each pair of fans was on a circuit and each large light wired separate. There were 10 light switches installed to control the room.
Doyle worked on connecting the new air conditioners & heaters to electric.
Dennis was requested to wear a turkey hat by one of the residents on Wednesday morning. This was to signify him as the head "Turkey" on the NOMADS team.
Dennis taped and mudded the walls.
Robert installed the exit lights over all the doorways.
We went out to the Runaway Train for dinner on Wednesday night as a team. Everyone on the team enjoyed a great burger at this old Pullman Car Restaurant.
We were treated to a grilled steak on Thursday, they wanted to treat us to a real "Texas" steak and potato meal.
The table decorations were bits and pieces of construction supplies from the room we were working on. This one had electrical boxes and wires.
As always the NOMADS were treated to way too much food! Besides the steak and baked potato the lunch include a salad, rolls and either Pecan Pie or Pumpkin Pie. This was a great time we had! The room needs some drywall mud finishing and then paint. They were excited that we had came so far.
