This our third week at UMOM. On Sunday we worshiped at Cross in the Desert Church with Louie Lyon as minister.
After church we went to Joyce & Louie's home for lunch. Gary & Phyllis Prichard joined us for lunch.
Sunday evening we went to the Christmas Concert put on by Cross in the Desert church. Louie was in the choir.
For Monday devotions we closed with "Bubbles." Each team member read part of the devotion then blew bubbles to help reflect on what was read.
We completed painting the steps and rails on the Veteran's housing area.
Dennis is installing an air conditioner in the new office shed.
One MORE Christmas tree showed up at UMOM! Nancy & Joyce decorated the tree with help from one of the children and their mom.
Ann started painting the fence around the day care infant play outside area. We could only paint between 1 and 3 pm naptime for the children.
Win to the rescue!! Poor Rudolph needed lots of tender loving care! His antlers were broken and body out of sorts. Win fixed him up better than new!!
Joyce helped paint the preschool fence. The fence is outside the garden of the preschool play area.
Vickie painted the slotted sun cover for the picnic tables. The wood was grateful for the paint.
Roger found one more picnic table to fix. He replaced wood on the table & added supports to it.
Nita & Joyce counted money for the office. It was a hard job but somebody had to do it!
We peeked in at the gift wrapping room. There were so many gifts that had been donated for the residences that Santa himself would have been proud! They said it was the most gifts they had ever had!
The flooring was completed in the shed. The shed will be an office. By the end of the day painting was all that was left for the next team to do.
Wednesday started the day with the inflatable reindeer having trouble pulling Santa out of the chimney. Louie replaced the duct tape & reattached the string & both Santa & reindeer were ready to work again.
Robin & Vickie painted the storage area by the shop.
Roger worked on one of several picnic tables while Ann & Nita carefully balanced the legs against the pavement.
Joyce helped paint the preschool fence. The fence is outside the garden of the preschool play area.

We went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner. It was Vickie's last day with us. She is heading back to Illinois.
On Wednesday we cleaned & organized the basement storage area. We sorted the items to be removed from the basement.
Louie moved some of the several carts of items being removed from the basement. The items were taken to an area where they would be distributed to where they were needed.
We worked most of the day matching, cleaning, sorting & sweeping.
Our finished basement. Hopefully the NOMADS team that puts away the Christmas decorations will be able to find the storage boxes they need easily.
We got a special treat right out of the oven hot homemade English Muffin Bread! The chef shared his own recipe with us. The bread was great. He even gave us butter to have with it. We gave him a clown hat to match his jacket.
Even though it rained & was damp, the sky cleared up just enough for us to pitch in & help Roger put the first coat of stain on the picnic table.
Robin & Anne painted the stairwell between the 2nd & 3rd floors. The paint had epoxy in it & they sprinkled speckles on it.
Nita & Joyce counted money for the office. It was a hard job but somebody had to do it!

It was time to say "Good-bye" to UMOM. Several Nomads pulled out Thursday evening. Nancy and I pull out on Friday morning and will head to a campground in Casa Grande for 9 days of rest before our youngest grand kids show up to spend some time with us before the New Year. Our next work site is in Tucson after the first of the year.
Merry Christmas and Nappy New Year wishes to all!
