This was our third & last week at First United Methodist Church in Tucson. We were amazed at all we were able to complete in the three weeks.
After having completed the flooring in the hallway during week two, On Monday Steve tore up the carpeting in the front lobby areas.
Mary Jewell traced the stencils on the wall for two "Arizona Room" doorway signs. She then painted the lettering with black paint.
At the end of week two the first half of the Arizona room was scrubbed, & cleaned &given a fresh coat of wax.. On Monday, Dennis scrubbed & cleaned the remaining half of the floor in the Arizona room & then we added a coat of wax to the floor.
The four free standing walls on the stage in the social hall got a new coat of paint.
On the wall at the end of the hallway, Shirley worked at painting the Methodist Flame & Cross between Faith, Hope & Love.
At the front entrance to the church the minister requested Open Hearts, Open Minds, & Open Doors to be stenciled & painted on the header of the wall.
Dennis worked at measuring, cutting & installing laminate floor in several small areas in the lobbies.
Bob worked with Steve and Paul to install the straight runs of the floor.
Steve & Dennis fixed the hinges of doors in the church. Some of the doors had to be sanded & hinges had to be moved.
We had a beautiful sunrise on Wednesday morning going to work. The sky was filled with brilliant pink & blue colors.
Shirley & Nancy put a coat of waterproof stain on the two outdoor benches.
The completed entryway header.
To the left of the header the Methodist cross & flame was stenciled in & painted.
The completed flooring in the hallway with Faith, Hope, & Love along with the Methodist Cross & Flame painted at the end of the hall. This project included lots of cleaning, painting, patio brick laying, floor staining, & general repairs.
