ECHO - N Fort Myers Florida January 12 - 19 week 2, 2019

This was our second week at ECHO.  We completed a few projects and started a few new ones.

This is our team. Dave & Carol, Sally & Chuck, Jane & Rob, Nancy & Dennis, Gary & Pat, Mike & Ruthie.

We attended the Alva UMC for Sunday service.

After church we went to the Alva Diner.

Ruthie had twisted her knee over the weekend so she worked in the library.  Part of her job was helping shelf books.

Pat, Gary & Mike did the final leveling for the cement walkway.

Nancy & Sally taped the porch of the male intern house with plastic so the furniture could be removed from the house.  The floors & walls were to be painted.

Dennis got help from one of the ECHO volunteers to move furniture.

Jane, Rob & Nancy got painting trips from John at ECHO. John was a professional painter so he had plenty of tricks & tips to make the painting go fast.

Rob rolled walls as Jane cut in the room.

Chuck & Mike built the second wall for the storage room in the loft of the shop.

When the cement was poured for the walkway, cones were put up & caution tape was put around it.

The second shop wall was measured to be sure it would fit.

Dave & Carol with the help of an ECHO volunteer put decking on the first bridge.

We held devotions in the classroom of the shop this week.

Nancy painted the baseboard in the intern house.  After the baseboard was painted Nancy & Sally cleaned the floors in preparation for the new floor sealer & paint.

Chuck & Mike swept & cut the new cement after it dried for a day.

Carol & Dave worked on installing handrails on the first bridge.

Dennis finished sealing the door of the mushroom house.

The first bridge is now reopened. The rail has caution tape where the bamboo will be placed when enough bamboo is cured.

Mike & Chuck installed the door on the new shop storage room.

We attended the Brown Bag lunch on Thursday. The ECHO staff was introduced along with the interns & the volunteers.

We started to repair the walls in the Price House & started to paint an office there.

At the duplex the siding was put on.

The new shelving at the duplex was primed & painted.

Building of the room in the loft is almost complete. Finishing shelves and door latches is all that is left.

Thursday night we went to Forrey's Grill to celebrate Chuck & Sally's 55 Wedding Anniversary.
