Hattiesburg Mississippi Period 4 March 16 - 22 2019 Week 2

This was our second week in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We worked on two different houses this week.  The first house we finished all the work we could and is now waiting for the plumber to come in. The second house we are working on has a lot of flooring to be replaced & a kitchen to be rebuilt.

Steve, Barb & Bill continued working on the new cabinets in the kitchen of the first house.

Glenita & Barb put two coats of paint on the entrance door.

Barb, Glenita, & Nancy sanded, primed & painted the cabinet doors.

Bill & Dennis put counter top on the first cabinet in the kitchen.

Dennis & Steve cut the counter top for the kitchen.

Barb painted the kick board for the kitchen.

Bill worked on electrical.  We had an outlet that didn't work and found out it was on a switch that was turned off. 😒

Bill & Dennis glued and screwed the counter top together before putting it in place.

Barb learned to use a tool for marking where handles go.

Our finished kitchen!  Daryl the supply guy for the rebuild group was very pleased with all we got finished.

On to the second house!  Our first job was to remove the old layers of flooring down to the original boards. Bill & Barb had a big job a head of them but the pieces came out in large chunks.

Steve hunted for nails that needed to be removed or pounded in.

The luan came in so we were ready to install it.

Glenita & Steve used leveling compound to get the area by the fireplace smooth before installing luan.

Bill stapled luan on the floor.

Nancy, Glenita & Steve put the new peel & stick flooring in place.

We did one of our favorite devotions.  All about bubbles!

The kitchen was next on our list. The old cabinets had to be removed.

Dennis spent time under the house working on getting pipes ready for the new plumbing for the new kitchen sink.

The cabinets arrived for the kitchen.

Thursday night we went to Twisted Skillet for dinner. It's owned by a member of the church in Hattiesburg.

Friday night we went to Laff-A-Lujah. It was a show of music, jokes, & praise.

We had good seats for the show.

The cast of "Selma the Musical" sang several song and joined with the local Praise Band for the closing.
