Aldersgate Camp, Ravenna, Kentucky Week 3

As we started our 3rd week of this site we were all reminded of the camp and the area we were in as the weather to start the week was great and the staff made us feel at home all the time.

We attended church at College Hill as a group. The church was so full we had to scatter all over to be seated. It was a great service which included a baptism by immersion.

On Sunday evening the team gathered for a soup potluck and good times.

On Monday we ended the day with our last campfire, with wet wood but it was fun anyway.

Many of the breaks were taken on the porch of the office when possible by the team members.

On Monday and Tuesday the women of the team helped in the kitchen serve 90 middle school youth each day who were at the camp.

The camp cat was ever present and was enjoyed by all.

On Tuesday evening the camp hosted a "Thanks" Dinner with turkey and the fixings! The Camp Staff served the meal.

The ladies spent part of Wednesday and Thursday sorting the puzzle pieces.

On Wednesday Dennis made sure all of the lights on the bridge were working.

On Thursday Amanda, brought her bunny to show to the ladies.

The restrooms and showers were completed on Wednesday, Which included painting the floors.

Dennis and rest of the guys spent much of the week splitting wood and cutting a couple of trees that had fell.

We built 4 large stacks of hardwood in the barn to dry, and also moved several stacks of pine out to the campfire bin sheds around the camp.

We pulled out of Aldersgate on Friday morning at 9:00 am. We got on I-75 and headed south stopping for the day in Chattanooga.  After we parked the camper we went to the Chickamauga Battlefield site.

While touring the site we came to the Wilder Brigade Monument which is 85 feet high! and 136 steps to the top!

Even though Nancy was not sure of it I helped her make it to the top where we got her picture before heading down.

We pulled out of here on Saturday morning heading for Dooly Camp in Vienna, Georgia.
Where we arrived on Saturday afternoon and set up camp for the week.
