ECHO week 2 Jan 12 - 18, 2014

We attended Tice United Methodist Church on Sundays 
while we were in north Fort Myers and then went out to lunch together.

On Sunday night we had a potluck at Linda &  Duane's campsite 
with Meredith & Bill providing the hot dogs. 

 Bill led devotions on Monday for ECHO the room was packed
 with about 80 people in attendance. 
 He also talked about NOMADS and what they do.

Dennis was asked to tell his favorite God Story during devotions on Monday.

Dick & Dennis worked on installing the electrical 
and the wires for the computers. 

They also installed the water lines into one of the newly remodeled 
seed bank rooms where a sink will be installed in the germination room. 

In the germination room they are going to control the climate
 so insulation was put into place by the ladies. 

Meredith with the help of Nancy and Linda put the 
first coat of paint on the Leni floor.

Bob & Dick worked on cutting dry wall for the patches
 in the new inventory room. 

Bill installed the moisture barrier on the walls in the germination room. 

Meredith power washed part of the African House. 

Linda power washed some of the house too. 

Nancy power washed the high parts. 

Bill mudded the ceiling in the inventory room while 
Dick &  Duane worked on installing more dry wall. 

Dennis worked at mudding the walls of the new inventory room. 

Duane  put screws into the dry wall on the walls while 
Bob & Dick installed dry wall around the new window. 

On Thursday devotions were led by Stan the CEO of ECHO.
He told us about his life before he came to Echo, 
his vision of ECHO in the future, and talked about
keeping Christ in your life.

Linda started cutting in on the African House. 

Sharon was also cutting in on the back side of the house. 

Friday we took a tour of ECHO Appropriate Technology 
with a class of international mission students. 

Bikes and bike parts were used for powering several of the handmade
tools because they are popular in several countries around the world.

Clay ovens of various types were displayed. 
The interns teach the people to use what is available in the country they go to. 

Hydroponics was explained.  
From growing fish to growing food in same water.
