This is our last week in Ripley Mississippi. We accomplished lots of work. All the covers on the outlets are installed, the touchup paint is completed in the kitchen, fellowship hall, storage closet, hallway, bathrooms, & upstairs, the final stainglass window is in place & trimmed, cabinets in the kitchen are all in place, stairway is painted, all doors installed, bathroom stall dividers installed, & the inside & outside ramps are completed.
On Sunday Bill talked to the
congregation about NOMADS and the last 5 years of work for them, thanking them
for all they have done.
After Church on
Sunday we did the NOMAD thing and went out to lunch at the “Chicken Supreme”
restaurant. The buffet was great.
Chic returned to work on Monday and did touch up on the doors with the
“Old English”.
Tony joined the team for this week and
started the day doing some trimming work.
Meredith did sanding on the kitchen serving windows & then did the touch-up paint.
Kathy caulked
the trim in the men’s room before the painting started on the ceiling.
After the
arrival of the lumber supplies Dennis and Willie began cutting the boards for
the base of the inside ramp.
Bill, Griffin and Meredith hung the upper cabinets in the kitchen.
Jim and Tony worked on
laying the decking for the outside ramp.
Nancy, Kathy and Chic painted the stair steps at the end of the day
Monday.
Bill glued the sides on the upper kitchen cabinets.
Meredith installed the drawer pulls on the cabinets & drawers in the kitchen.
Bill, Buford & Griffin built the partitions for the women's bathroom.
Tony & Jim continued to work on the outside handicap ramp.
Dennis & Buford installed the handrails after building the rest of the inside handicapped ramp.
Tony & Kathy put primer on the bathroom ceiling.
Chic & Nancy worked on putting another coat of drywall mud on the doorway to the bathrooms & preparing the doorways for trim.
Nancy & Chic put a coat of primer on the newly built ramp inside.
While we worked on Tuesday, the glass repair company put plexi-glass over all the stain glass windows to protect them.
Chic worked at removing the old tread from the sanctuary.
Kathy caulked the ladies bathroom.
Griffin & Bill finished installing stall dividers in the ladies room.
Bill installed the transition strip in the upstairs bathroom before Nancy did the final cleaning & touch up paint.
Chic & Meredith painted the first coat of brown paint on the inside ramp.
Meredith helped Bill install a dead bolt on the door to the kitchen.
Jim & Tony completed the outside ramp just before the rain drops began to fall.
Dennis, Tony & Willie finished installing the men's room stall dividers.
Nancy painted the stairs and put sand on them so they would not be slippery.
Chic & Meredith put the final coat of paint on the ramp inside.
Tony & Jim with the help of Griffin, started to install the doors into the sanctuary.
The NOMADS Team surprised Bill & Meredith with a gift for their last project.
Chic & Nancy sanded the bathroom partitions.
Some of the church members helped the NOMADS install the doors into the sanctuary.
Nancy & Chic painted primer on the bathroom partitions.
Bill finished the final electrical outlet.
Meredith painted & stained the door moldings.
Several men from the church helped with our final day of work.
Bill & Meredith painted the door into the sanctuary from the handicapped ramp.
Willie painted & primed the walls between the doors into the sanctuary.
