Riverside Camp LaBelle Florida January 26 to Feb 1

This was our first week at Riverside Camp & Retreat Center in LaBelle, Florida. The camp has a large list of items for us to work on. We were able to get a good start on the projects this week.

For our team meeting we served soup & salad.

The camp is trying to hire a new maintenance manager. We started working on the house for the manager.  There was a lot of work to do both inside and out. Rob patched holes with concrete on the outside of the house.

Nancy helped with sanding of the walls.

Jane cleaned the floors after caulking the baseboard.

Karen removed the old cement and learned to use a new tool, the hammer drill for removing cement from the posts.

Carol & Karen removed the old fence from the front of the house.

Greg & Dave checked out the roof on the porch & repaired a leak on the roof.

Daphne & Karen removed one of the old poles that was in the ground.

Greg, Dennis, Rod & David removed the old poles holding up the front porch.

The old skirting was removed from the program directors house.

Carol cleaned all the vents in the maintenance house.

Dave added trim around the closet doors & sanded them to fit.

Greg & Karen broke up the old tiles under the windows in the living room.

Under the old shutters on the front of the porch we found lots of frogs.

We were watched by an armadillo in the front yard.

Dennis used his truck to move the old tire that was filled with several plants.

Karen power washed the outside walls of the house.

Nancy power washed the porch ceiling.

Dennis & Rod installed a new door and trim in the living room.

Greg & Dave started planning the new fence.

Rod cut in on the outside of the house with primer.

Judy painted the ceiling of the bedroom.

Dennis textured the family room ceiling.

We went to dinner at Amigos on Thursday night.
