This was our third week in Lumberton. We were able to complete one house and finish several small jobs on 2 homes to complete them also. We had a team of 10 Nomads this week for the work.
After church on Sunday we went to Shoney's for lunch. Several of us had their buffet. The food was good.
On Monday, Dave & Nancy finished installing an inside door and completing a house.
On another house they installed an extension on the screen door which completed that house also.
The final paint was put on the ceiling inside of another house.
Dave & Nancy went to a third house to repair the opening around an HVAC return air vent.
Judy removed the tape & plastic from the house where they painted the inside of the living room.
Stel finished painting the gable end of the outside of one of the houses.
Dave & Nancy did a priming & Painting on the trim around the HVAC vent repairs before they installed it.
When it was finished it looked nice.
Most of the team moved to another house. We helped Hugh unload our supplies for the job.
The jobs were all outside. Jodi & Judy painted the soffit overhang in back.
Dave started working on the front porch to return it to a screened in porch.
Nancy cut off several nails.
Dennis finished cutting the nails.
Bob, Bob, Paige & Linda worked at getting the bathroom, bedroom, & kitchen finished in the house they had been working on.
Stel & Dave framed in the new porch.
Dennis removed the old siding for replacement.
Dave & Stel framed in a new door opening on the porch.
Jodi, Nancy, & Judy replaced siding on the side of the house.
Jodi & Dennis cut wood to enclose the upper peak area of the house.
Dennis put j-channel on the house to install the siding.
Dave, Jodi, Stel & Judy put new screen on the house.
Dennis did a Bible presentation on the house that NOMADS had worked on for over 4 weeks. Our teams had rebuilt the kitchen, to include a repaired floor, new counters and sink. We had also made the outlets safe and installed new ceiling lights. New paint went on the walls and new flooring in the kitchen and living room. We had also finished painting the outside and repaired the roof. Charlene and Bobby were grateful for all we had done.
Our whole team surrounded the home owner.
On Thursday we returned to the house with the outside work needing to be done. Dennis caulked areas that were open.
Dennis & Stel put up siding on the front of the house.
Dave wore one of his hats & the sun was too hot for him during break so he opened up his umbrella for shade.
Dave cut & installed the trim around the screenroom.
By the end of the day all that is left for us to do is to fix some foundation bricks.
Thursday was Judy & Dave's last day with us. We celebrated the week by going out to eat. They left on Friday morning returning to Michigan where it had just snowed for their arrival.
We went to Finn Oliver's which is a family restaurant with down home food.
