After taking a week off we traveled to Vienna, Georgia, for our next project. This was our first week at Dooly Camp in Vienna, Georgia. The weather turned cold for the first part of the week. We were able to get a lot of the small project work done on the project list.
This sign directed us to the camp. We are parked by the railroad and there are several trains that go by both day and night.
We held our team meeting on Sunday night. Only 2 of the rigs were in. Steve and Renee & Bud and Midge.
One of our first jobs was to clean the tables in the conference center. Renee, Midge, & Nancy worked on those.
We also cleaned all the chairs in the conference center.
Bub & Steve repaired the electrical switch in one of the cabin bathrooms that had been wired wrong..
Bub and Steve repaired this table in the Tabernacle that had a broken leg.
After all the tables were cleaned, Dennis, Bub, & Steve put them back on the rack.
Bub & Steve picked up the piles of leftover wood pieces & put them in the dumpster.
Steve repaired several of the broken rails on the fences.
Bub & Steve took measurements for the new siding on one of the buildings.
Keren, Bub, Dennis & Steve started to install the Hardi board siding over the top of the boards.
Midge, Renee, & Nancy cleaned the heat vent cover.
The weather turned very cold on us. Nancy gave the ladies a knitted hat.
Renee cleaned the vents in the ceiling.
Karen arrived on Monday afternoon and started helping with installing the siding.
Steve cleaned the light covers in the conference center.
Dennis removed the hangers that had been placed in the ceiling.
Renee & Steve took out the old cement by the doors to prepare for the new cement.
Midge & Nancy moved to the kitchen & dining hall to clean chairs & tables.
Thursday night we went to Americus. They had several trees decorated by different groups on display in the park.
We joined NOMADS John & Joyce Williams (no relation to us) at the 1800 restaurant to celebrate John's birthday.
One of the gifts he got was a "Hillbilly Chainsaw".
After dinner we watched the parade. There many floats, bands and other items in the parade.
Santa Claus came by firetruck at the end of the parade.
Saturday night we had a potluck. Like any NOMADS group there was way too much good food.
After the potluck we watched the movie "Joshua."

If I remember right, Midge and Bub were at Dooly the first time we were there years ago. Say hey to them. Also, please tell Burt we sent our love. He is an absolute joy and help to all NOMADS teams. So envious of you all working at one of our favorite places. Enjoy and God Bless.
ReplyDeleteAnd Dooly will be remembered as our last project. We only worked the first week due to realizing Len has a serious health issue that needed to be addressed.
