Hawthorne Florida week 3 Mar 22 - 28, 2014

This was our third and final week in Hawthorne, FL. 

 Sunday afternoon we had a game time and played "Loose Your Marbles." 
 The guys won!

On Monday, Joyce worked on painting of the porch edge of the thrift store.

 Bill sanded and smoothed the porch rails getting them ready for painting.

 Cleota painted green over the "pink house."

 Dennis and Jack discussed how to put new foundation supports under a house

Pete works on repairing a roof at a home.

Wednesday night two of the church members prepared dinner for us.

 
Bob and Shirley former NOMADS prepared chicken pot pie and salad for our dinner. 
 May Ann another church member made two beautiful cakes for our dinner

The fence around the church's memorial garden was power washed.

Butch and Cheri finished cleaning after working on a kitchen in one of the homes.

A bathroom was repaired and painted in one of the houses.


Nancy and Joyce put the finishing touch up on the fence around the memorial garden.

 
Dave and Patty installed new cabinets in a home.

We all parked our trucks by the work shop every morning 
for getting supplies and then going to our job sites.

Cleota and Sandy finished painting the pink house into a green house.

Cleota and Patty worked on putting the final coat of gray paint on the ramp to match
 the color that the house was painted for an eldery lady.

Dave painted the floor of the front porch at the thrift store
 on our final afternoon to finish the week.

Sandy painted the white safety paint on the back steps at the thrift store.

We have had a great time here on this project and look forward to meeting these team members again "Down the Road"! We left Hawthorne on Friday morning to head for Ripley, Mississippi
 for our next project. Our plan was to travel about 300 miles per day
 and to arrive on Saturday afternoon.
