This was our last week of the 3 week project in Winter Haven. We finished up all the work that was planned.
On Sunday we attended church at Wahneta.
The team including Arlin & pastor Nelson & his wife all got together for a picture after church.
The church hosted a potluck dinner honoring the NOMADS.
On Monday Mary Ann painted the last of the outdoor wall
before placing the sand back.
John & Nancy worked on finishing the ceiling tiles in the Sunday School room.
Dennis finished applying the grout to the baseboard in the fellowship hall.
On Tuesday Dennis applied the vinyl baseboard to the walls in the kitchen area.
Wanda prepared the wall in the storage area before painting it.
Al & John painted the ceiling in the Sunday School room.
Dennis & Bill replaced ceiling tiles in the storage area.
While the girls worked at the thrift store on Wednesday, Al, John, & Dennis helped at Eloise with their food distribution & cleaned out the storage shed.
Lunch for the team was prepared & served by Perry & Jeanie daughter Debora at St. John's.
We had a potluck cook out Wednesday night in the parking area.
Thursday we worked at Eloise. There were a few final items they wanted done.
We held devotions outside the building.
The team all worked at figuring out how to install new awnings over the doors since there was no directions.
The final awning was put in place.
We were given a tour of both Angel Care & Project Love at Eloise. Inside the "Project Love"side of Eloise is a large cross filled with over 2000, 3-D butterflies representing the clients they have helped.
Project Love has lots of activities for clients. This section is filled with sewing supplies where clients learn to sew & work on other crafts. In other areas they have clothing, food, & devotions.
We were taken out to lunch at a local restaurant.
On Saturday we went to the Homer get together at Westgate River Ranch. There were 23 people from the Homer area that were there.
Our church family friends, Fred & Mary Jane, Les & Jane, & Linda & Bob were there. What a great way to end our time in this part of Florida.
We have now finished our first two, 3 week set of projects for this year and will have 3 weeks to relax before we start our next project in Mississippi.
