After a week break from working for travel we arrived at Wimberly, Texas. The first week we were members of the team. The next 3 weeks we will be the leaders. The weather was great this week as by Thursday we had record high temps in the area.
On Sunday evening we had out get acquainted meeting. There were a total of 13 people on this team.
A few finishing touches were all that was left for completion at the house on Matador.
For the whole week we had Don & Paula, and Anne & Bob working on shingles for this garage and replacing the fascia.
Another work site was one of the condos that had been damaged by flooding. Sara was caulking and painting to finish there.
Across the parking lot was another condo that we spent the week working on. The dining room ceiling had fell in. Dennis and Larry had to hang new drywall.
A bathroom had been completely gutted and then the plumbing corrected before the bath tub could be installed.
In the first condo new tile was finished and had to be grouted by Jean.
In the second condo the walls were textured to match the original walls by Nancy.
The bathroom plumbing had to be moved by Jeff.
Dennis worked on the dining room ceiling that had to be textured to match the rest of the ceiling
Jeff and Herman started to cut the new crown molding for the living room and dining room.
The crown molding didn't quite fit to the wall since the wall bowed a bit giving them a challenge to put up.
Baseboard needed to be installed in the entryway, dining room, and living room by Larry.
It was hard to imagine the flood water reaching over 5 feet in the area where we were working. This sign went under water during the flood on this site. The whole area you see here was under water in a matter of just a few hours it came up so fast.
On Thursday night we went to Italian Gardens for dinner and said good bye to Jeff & Joyce and Sara.
