This was our first week at the Elmore City, Oklahoma Disaster Recovery project. We are in this area due to the floods that hit the homeowners in the nearby town of Maysville the summer of 2016. We were working on a garage that was being turned into a home for an elderly man.
On Sunday, Gary & Gwen talked about NOMADS to our host church congregation in Elmore City where we are staying.
The church quilting group presented quilts to the NOMADS that were leaving and donated a quilt for the NOMADS Annual Meeting Auction.
This was our team for the week.
There was a lot of work to be done in the house we were working on. Dennis started by installing electrical boxes in the ceiling.
Scott worked on mudding the drywall.
Gary helped get the plumbing lines installed.
Gary reinstalled the cement that had to be cut out and then leveled the cement floor for the bathroom.
Pat & Barb finished dry walling a window downstairs.
Nancy added a scab board to a stud in the upstairs bathroom.
Gary & Scott installed drywall under the stairs.
Henry cut pieces for the new walls we were building.
Pat & Barb cut drywall for finishing the walls.
Gwen screwed in drywall upstairs in the bathroom & Nancy rasped pieces to fit.
Herman worked on the electrical box.
Gwen used her dremmel to cut drywall.
Nancy carved out the vent pipe area from the drywall to get it to lay smooth.
Gary learned to install corner bead with help from Scott. We only have a small amount of drywall to install and then to get it all finished next week.
