Oklahoma Disaster Recovery March 24 - 30

This was our last week in Elmore City Oklahoma.  We were able to complete the two houses we were working on & present bibles to the home owners.

On Sunday Dennis was asked to talk about NOMADS during church.

During church the team was presented with quilts made by members of the church quilting group. We were also given a quilt to donate to the annual meeting auction.

After church we went to lunch at Pumpkins.  It was one of Elvis' favorite places to eat.  The food was very good.

Bob & Paige installed the ceiling fan in the living room.

Ricci put floor leveler on the entrance between the kitchen & living room.

Bruce installed trim around the windows.

Nancy put caulk & paint on the green board around the shower.

Jean chiseled out the remainder of the old floor tile in the entrance way.

Bruce & Bob worked on getting the new door installed upstairs.

Janette painted the trim around the windows.

Bob sanded the edges of the handrail on the wall edge of the stairs.

Dennis cut holes in the ceiling to find the gas leak.

Several holes had to be cut at connectors to find the 3 gas leaks.

Dennis patched the holes in the ceiling with drywall then mudded & textured the patches preparing them for paint.

Bruce trimmed out the downstairs air conditioner.

Bob & Paige put the fan blades back up.

Bob & Dennis rolled the carpet out in the street to cut it.

Bob & Paige installed the carpet in the downstairs.  It was quite a job with all the cuts that needed to be made.

At the other house, Janette caulked & painted the base board.

Bruce cut the base board to be installed.

Ricci & Jean trimmed the old flooring that warped from flooding so it would fit back into the room.

Bob & Paige let us hold devotions in their motor home each day.

Dennis installed the pedestal sink in the downstairs bathroom.

Bob worked on finishing the carpet under the steps.

Dennis & a VIM worker (Kevin) put the new shower curtain together for the bathroom. It was right after this we gave the house key back to the home owner and presented him with a Bible signed by all of the NOMADS that had helped on this project.
