This was our second week in Hattiesburg, MS. We were short members on our team so Cliff & Ann stayed over to work on Monday & Tuesday. With the help of all team members we were able to complete the two houses that we had been working on and start a third house.
Our team was: Bruce & Janette, Dennis & Nancy (leaders), Cliff & Ann, Larry & Jean, & John & Sue.
After church we went to Golden Corral for lunch.
In Petal, the counter tops had to be trimmed & put in place. Bruce & Dennis worked on getting the counter tops to fit.
Dennis grouted the final pieces of ceramic tile.
Janette added another coat of paint to the ceiling in the utility room.
Sue painted the pocket door on both sides.
Bruce cut & installed the last piece of trim over the front window.
At Cedar street Larry & Cliff put in the front door.
Ann did touch up painting & cleaning of windows.
Jean put the final coat of paint on the trim around the doors.
John installed all the door stops at the house in Petal.
Bruce put the knobs & pulls on the cabinets in the kitchen.
The finished kitchen lower cabinets.
Bruce put up the hangers for the clothes bars in the closets. He also put up a shelf in each closet.
Dennis installed the dead bolt on the front door.
The toilet was installed by John & the area around it was trimmed, caulked & painted
Janette put silicone around the base of the tub.
Our campers were parked at the Oak Grove UM church.
On Tuesday night we went to Outback to celebrate Sharon's Birthday. It was a big surprise for Sharon and had been set up by Gary and Dennis.
On Wednesday we got the top cabinets in for the kitchen. Dennis & Bruce installed them.
Janette & Nancy primed & painted the shutters on the house.
Sue helped with final cleanup at Cedar Street.
Rae & Anitra invited our team over for dinner on Thursday night.
They fixed an excellent meal with help from some of the church members.
Everyone had a great time relaxing.
Thursday morning we were given a new house to start working on. This house has lots of outside work as well as some inside work that needs to be done.
Bruce worked on taking down the sofit & fascia that needed replacing.
Jean, Sue, Janette & Nancy scraped the shutters & started painting them with primer.
It took Larry, Dennis, Bruce & John working together to rebuild the sofit.
We presented a bible to the home owner at Cedar Street. Her favorite part of the "new" house was the painting of the front two rooms of her house by the NOMADS. She said she had wished that the rooms would be painted but didn't dream that the NOMADS would have time to paint it.
